My Story

Hey,

I've decided to run Coventry Half for Penny Appeal because among their many campaigns, they are fundraising to send aid to Asia to support people trying to survive the coronavirus pandemic. We know the price that wealthy, western countries have paid for inaction around the spread of the virus, and we have seen the devastation it has caused in Asia, where people live in crowded cities, multi-generational homes, and rural areas far from a hospital. We've seen footage of mass graves and cremations, of families mourning the loss of their loved ones.

As well as the pandemic, which we can all relate to, Penny Appeal fundraise to provide relief for people living through crises such as the Yemen famine, the Syria emergency, and the Palestine emergency. Penny Appeal also - more locally- runs the Phoenix Fund: supporting domestic abuse survivors in Birmingham and Solihull.

With well over twenty different appeals to share their donations between, Penny Appeal need lots of funds to be raised. I'm giving it my best try by asking for donations as a form of sponsorship for Coventry Half-marathon in October!
