My Story
I started running many years ago after having my older 2 children. At the time it was a means for me to use that time and space to think, have time to think over the many endless tasks as a mother! Over time it has become a positive habit but it wasn't until I was in my 40s I wanted to do something worthwhile with my running. Now at the age of 43 and a mother to 3 boys, fulltime job as an NHS Project Manager and a student of Islamic Studies - If I can do it- anyone can!
Although I have done a number of 5k and 10k runs, the London Marathon in my view was for athletes only- but I am wrong! It is for anybody that is willing to put time, effort and consistency into a positive habit.
I am also a keen fundraiser, nothing warms me up more than helping someone. Naturally this event will bring my two passions together and I would love to have your support in making a dream come true for me but more importantly making life worth living for many others.
I have signed up to take on the biggest challenge of my life! I hope to run 26.2 miles at the 2022 LONDON MARATHON with Penny Appeal in Oct 2022. Crossing the finish lines after 26.2 miles will be one of my greatest achievements, but I need your help to get me there.
I hope to fund the construction of an entire water well that will serve a community day in, day out, providing them with fresh, clean water. It costs just £4000 to build one water well. We all know that water is an essential need but as well as being integral to stay hydrated, it is also indispensable to feed livestock and other animals so a regular source of income can be maintained, paving the way for the freedom of self-sufficiency we take for granted.
Penny Appeals Dig Deep campaign aims to provide safe, clean drinking water for children, families and the elderly living in Africa. Please DIG DEEP with me and help me build water wells in Africa. Together we can provide the gift of clean water, and make a massive difference. إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللّٰهُ
